I swear, every single year it sneaks up on me quicker and quicker. Here recently I have been thinking more about what Christmas means to me. I could tell you very few things that I have received over the years, but I can definitely remember the awesome Christmas get togethers my family has (tipsy Rock Band anyone).
This has made me seriously re-evaluate the whole practice of gift giving. I would really like to start making gifts for my family and since I have yet to learn how to sew or knit, I found some really easy, cute crafts that could easily be made in an afternoon. This is the first of them.
High School Meets High Class
Does anybody else remember making friendship bracelets in high school? I had a little divided plastic container full of embroidery string for making these. Well, this is an updated, chicer adult version of those bracelets. The chunky chain adds just enough edge to make them cool while the braided section will make you feel nostalgic.

And if you just don’t feel like cranking one of these out, you can also purchase one from The Doctors Closet on Etsy.
Erica at Honestly WTF has a great tutorial at her website on how to make the friendship bracelet portion, however, I would suggest using a clipboard instead of tape to keep your project anchored. Just click on the image below to go to the tutorial and while your there check out her other great DIYs .
